How The West Was Won - 2008
C-type print. 8 x 10 inches. Edition of 15, framed with text:

This photograph is the only surviving documentation of a lost performance called How The West Was Won, which took place in Alaska in August 2007. The performance was carried out at Delta Junction, where the Richardson highway runs parallel with the Trans-Alaskan Pipeline; an 800-mile pipe stretching the entire state connecting the north oil fields to a shipping harbour on the south coast.

The performance was carried out at mile 562 in a cardboard petrol pump costume with petrol pump guns on either side, lasting roughly half an hour in the presence of one person. It was documented on several rolls of Super-8 film. The film was destroyed going through customs when leaving the United States
